The American Dream is still a very talked about idea in this
day and age, simply, because it isn’t what it used to be. What is anymore,
right? But, why do some people not quite achieve “The American Dream”? Well,
because it isn’t the same as it used to be for one. Also, who is to tell
someone else what their dream should be.
I believe the original concept of
the American dream is still the same, it’s what people view as success, equality,
and hard work is what is different. Everyone doesn’t dream to take over the
family business anymore. Young women want to be business owners, entrepreneurs,
CEO's, they want to be highly respected. Young men don’t want to take over their
fathers farm or mechanic shop, they rather go to college and become whatever
they dream to be.
I feel as if the new American dream
is what makes YOU successful, what makes YOU happy, and what makes YOUR family
proud. Success if different in everyone’s eyes and it is no where equal, and I don’t
think it ever will be.
